SELECTING MODELS FOR A PHOTOSHOOT

Everyone knows that stocks sell people best. Of course, a photographer can also make money on objects, interiors and all sorts of landscapes, and a good landscape is better than a bad portrait, but the statistics are inexorable. For a photo to sell well, there must be people in it, at least fragments of them )))

Stock photography often dictates its own rules to us. Therefore, we often encounter the fact that photos of beautiful professional models can gather dust in your portfolios for a long time, but photos of a simple girl with disheveled hair and no makeup are sold like hot cakes!

Stocks need emotions! Bright, positive and dynamic photos sell like hot cakes on a market day. For such shoots, you need to choose special models. It is better that it is at least a couple, and better yet, family, friends or a good company. This way the emotions will be most sincere. They can be quite ordinary in appearance, it is just important that they can have a blast in the frame, jump, laugh, bite, stick out their tongue and make various grimaces. So that they are not embarrassed to look ridiculous and funny.

Usually I notice such people among my regular clients, models and offer them cooperation.
Some photographers try to work on TFP/TFCD terms, choosing models remotely, from their photos or in person. But very often they make a mistake and get only extra work and stress.

My strong advice is to offer TFP terms only after a preliminary paid shoot or short free photo tests to see the person in the frame, how he behaves. The most relaxed beauty can be as tense as possible in front of the camera. Or what is even worse, for example, constantly pouting her lips and making a languid look to be sexier. Well, really sexier.

Let's say that you have found a model that suits you. The second stage is to come up with a theme for the photoshoot so that it “hooks” both you and the model. It is much easier to work with a person who is interested in the result as much as you are, and who likes what he does. And one more small detail! When shooting positive and cheerful scenes, take music! Of course, cheerful and rhythmic! Then it will be easier for you to get a sparkle in the eyes and positivity.

Good sales to you.
