My name is Eduard Stelmakh. I am a photographer on Phu Quoc Island. I make photographs. Sometimes not just “photographs”.
They are not what people are used to see in wedding albums. It’s exclusive. Expensive. Unique. I stage creative and artistic paintings. I was the first to do it in my country, and one of the very few people in the world. This is my work and I take pride in it. This is what I do, what I love, what I create, what separates me from other photographers.
However, under all this bravado there is one tiny-tiny catch. People visit my website in their wish to order a photosession with me, call me on the phone and start conversation with the same one question:”Um… can you make normal photographs? Like, you know, regular wedding coverage photos?” Of course I do and that’s what I’m saying every time, after all, if you do a photoshooting with me, you choose the rules, and I follow. I will make it the way you want it.
So to clear things up a bit on this regard, I hereby start these posts. Blessed by Constantin and Catherine to do so, I took 50 pictures from their wedding and now will introduce them to you.
Weddings on Phu Quoc Island have a rhythm all their own — slow, sunlit, surrounded by the sound of waves and the scent of salt in the air. It’s not about posing endlessly, but about moving naturally, laughing freely, and letting the island do its quiet magic.
