Ich hatte 8.500 Follower auf Instagram, jetzt habe ich 130. Ich habe es schön aufgeräumt...
Somehow I was surprised to find a myriad of stores, event organizers, hairdressers and similar advertising garbage among my subscribers.
I have to do something about that. Right, delete them all.
And that was really easy. You can simply delete them without going to the spam page. You can see immediately in the preview that it's spam.
I deleted them and ended up with less than 3500 subscribers. Remaining 5,000 subscribers. Pretty good...
Next step.
It was harder to spot all the spam that was disguised as a normal account with a normal preview. For example, you see a portrait of a girl, go in and find dresses, bows and hairpins with prices for each product. And it's in Chinese. Yeah, so, I'm definitely a warm customer and a highly gender-biased audience.... :)
I've seen so much there.... If you've never cleaned up your Instagram, you're in for a big surprise ;) You have no idea what they push there and what tricks they resort to in order to keep you as a subscriber.
And I frown and wonder why I am so good, with beautiful pictures and I have 8500 subscribers with so few likes and comments. Is that how it is?
The trick is: the more bots and stores you have, the lower down you are. Fewer of your friends see you, fewer hits, fewer likes and comments. In short, the stores are your direct enemies. The ones that directly ruin your life and destroy your profile.
Out of 5,000 people, I deleted 2,500.
I kept the remaining 2500 people for a year. I experimented with different types of download behavior, different types of content, and reciprocal subscription policies.
ER is the engagement rate = likes + comments + saves.
My ER was 0.04%. That's completely below the base, it's a complete non-existence in the market. The standard should be 10%.
Next, I used $2.99 and a great program to create a delete scenario for anyone who hasn't liked or commented in the last 3 months.
Wacky? I know. But why would I want to make myself feel guilty.
And it's one thing to not know, but this is where I realize that all these people are simply destroying my Instagram profile. By downgrading my account.
And voila! There are 130 people left. HE's gone from 0.04% to 25.5%.
Bravissimo!
Why didn't I do this before? Being one-sidedly good is very expensive.
With 130 people there are 2-3 times more likes than with 2500 people.
The math is that simple. Fewer people - more likes and comments.
And all because Instagram shows your new post to 10 of your followers first.
It looks at their reaction. If they like it, it shows it to 100 followers, if it's okay, it goes even further. Now, if those first 10 were bots, stores or people with 10,000 followers, then you and your brilliant photo are left out there somewhere on the edge of the internet for all to see.
In other words, potential new customers aren't seeing my photos and videos because my friends aren't commenting or liking them. What good is that if not even my friends are interested?
So friends who are interested in the daily updates with my photos, videos, backstage and many personal things. If you plan on liking and commenting and getting something back from me too, then welcome. Subscribe to my Instagram.
If you plan to just watch without taking action, it's better if you don't.
For me, Instagram is largely a commercial part of my life. So if you don't like or comment on anything, Instagram is less likely to show my photos to potential clients. By being passive, you're tacitly ruining my business. Which means that in another time $2.99 will solve this injustice. Only the pattern for deletion will be different.
Everyone else, welcome! As always, all reasonable people who love beauty and aesthetics are welcome.
