Photoshoot with fire, backstage.
This photo opens a series of staged shots commissioned by Diana Poletaeva for her personal portfolio. I shot the first three photoshoots in a beautiful meadow. I conceived an image in advance and, together with Diana, decided on this dress as the most suitable option. It's not depressingly dark, not garishly garish, and has a flowing fabric that creates a dynamic effect in the shot.
So we met at noon. Alyona (the makeup artist) had done Diana's makeup beforehand, and on location, they appeared in all their glory. Without wasting any time, we packed up the equipment, set up the lighting, and got to work. We opened the champagne and celebrated, not bad, the start of a successful shoot. And then we had another drink to celebrate the hard work of a photographer and a model. Once the champagne was over, we remembered there was another reason we were here in the first place.
Yes, you read that right! Photoshoot!
This is the kind of super special effect you get when you take a photo with your finger on the camera. We're pros, yes. :)
Assembling the launch pad for the jumps. Almost Baikonur.
I show the models in what pose they usually fly over a fire.
Ich sehe mir das Filmmaterial an. Gutes Material. Anpassen und verbessern.
A golden reflector was placed at the feet to create yellow-gold reflections from the fire.
The sun is no obstacle to monitoring the footage. Old technology reigns supreme.
And the assistants, focused and without champagne, lay the first logs for the fire. The second part of our recording.
The campfire for the second part of the photo shoot is almost ready. We're testing the lighting.
We brought 2 kg of flour.
Ordinary wheat flour. It was believed that if you threw it into the fire, it would spurt out and create sparks. Smoking was strictly forbidden in factories and bakeries. The reason: The flour saturates the air, making it explosive. One spark is enough for the air to explode.
Such cases are known.
At the risk of being blown into a thousand tiny pieces :), we threw flour into the fire.
No, it didn't burn, let alone spark. We threw it again, and the result was the same.
The reason remained a mystery to everyone.
By the way, to the right of the fire you can see a small pinch of flour that we threw into the fire.
