My favorite topic for entertainment is copyists. )
When people ask me where to get ideas for their photos and productions, I recommend coming up with them yourself. And if you can't do something, what? Then take something you really like (a movie, a painting, a photograph, in the bedroom window of the house across the street), and add your own ideas, details, and nuances to this topic. In short, remake it your own way. Learn and create to your heart's content.
This is good.
The world of photography is thus developing and moving away from the standard format of "me with a birch tree." However, there are funny guys who meticulously copy my photos and at the same time, in the comments, beautifully discuss what original equipment they used, what wonderful photos they have. And in general, they are great guys. I agree - great guys. You raise my spirits and my friends'. I present a series of such great guys. Enjoy watching. )
This is my wedding photo.
Unusual wedding story of Mikhail and Elena. A brave and beautiful couple who wanted to take creative photos. The guys did not waste time on trifles, but gave it their all. Agree, not every bride would risk getting her wedding dress wet on such a special day, before the ceremony and banquet. The groom's friends acted as waiters.
A fake by another photographer, of course no water.
Well, here's another option from Kaluga.
What kind of chandeliers don't copyists use when copying this photo.
However, this is perhaps the most shameful looking option. People have no idea what taste and style are. They stick everything that is lying on the balcony into the frame. Unfortunately, this bad photographer remained unknown to me. The bride, under this copy on her VKontakte page, talked about what a great photographer he was. What an amazing idea he offered them and what a photo he took for them.
Just great. It's a pity that he didn't have enough brains to come up with something of his own and create at least a little for the soul.
Wedding story, already famous Evgeniy and Svetlana.
One of the most popular and also one of the most copied photos of mine. In this shooting, I gutted two pillows but made an unforgettable photo for this couple.
Video backstage from this unique wedding shooting here.
The second photo is from the same copyist. The cheapness of the special effects makes your eyes water.
But creating your own unique idea is not that difficult. You just need to listen to your imagination, and of course, take into account the individuality of the customer. See, so to speak, his fairy-tale image. Or imagine him in Alice's "Wonderland". And the first thing that comes to mind is to dump it on the client for approval. Think about how to implement it in the real world ... and ... here you go, a "brilliant" work is ready!
Of course, this works if you have at least some taste and sense of style.
Also, one of my most copied photos.
I love this work. Photoshoot on the water. This is not Photoshop, the girl is actually standing on the water, and the assistants pulled the fabric with fishing rods.
Here is a backstage-video from this individual photoshoot.
This photo was taken by a "creatively thinking" photographer from Russia. Find two differences. )))
And another positive message sent this morning.
And this copy was made by a Kyivian resident. It looks like Kyiv fabric stores should start paying me interest.)
Here's to this new moment, every day the fabric is exposed to the cloud.
My photo. It was taken on the same day as the photo with the fabric wings.
And this is a photo of a Kiev resident. An undeniable difference: the frame is turned in the other direction. )))
The same newlyweds as the “Pillow fight”.
For those who are not very good at English, here is a rough translation:
“Attention. Wanted. Dead or alive. They staged 24 fake weddings. They trick guests into buying expensive gifts and then disappear from the restaurant without paying. Reward: $1,000,000.”
See the backstage video from this wedding photo shoot here.
And this photo was sent to me from Germany.
This photographer conducts master classes. The theme with the prison is certainly not new and I am far from being a pioneer in it. But, as I said above, the main thing is to do your own. The German did not steal the theme, he ripped off the photo, with all the details. Every self-respecting photographer tries to add his own notes and his own original solutions to the development of the theme he takes on. However, Felix clearly does not teach this in his master classes.
He stole the photo, the bastard. )
I never cease to be amazed at how quickly bad photographers copy my photos.
Just now, Igor Savenchuk sent me this cover of the Chernigov edition. Thank you, Igor. This is the backstage of how my photo session went.
As you can see, the photo was copied in its entirety, down to the smallest detail.
They found the same short black dress and a gun with a telescopic sight. And even the same massive necklace. The same shooting angle, the same pose of the model. Oh no! They took the shoes in the other hand. It's a pity that no one told them that such a composition completely "ruins" their frame.
Friends sent another, this time a brown copy of my photo of a girl with shoes and a crossbow. 20 days after the previous parody. Let's see when the next one will be. )
This photo was taken in one shot. It is not a montage. The girl is standing on a stepladder, which we hid in a haystack. Assistants on the sides are tugging at the fabric.
Backstage of this individual photoshoot.
Boba-Shmotkin sent a link to this copy of my photo. The young photographer wanted to add to someone else's achievements. Thank you, Boba, you have a funny name. :)
And here is what the copyist herself wrote:
"I was very inspired by Backstage... I didn't even think about intellectual property... I only had thoughts in my head that everything was so simple and I should do better...
I found a bunch of flaws (in my opinion) in your photo and went to "fix" them."
Here comes another hit. I took this photo in Thailand and came up with a funny advertising text for it:
"Stelmakh Sea Resort & Spa" is recognized as the most expensive and eco-friendly luxury hotel in the world. The price of accommodation includes 2 pillows, sun cream and a romantic photoshoot on the beach of Koh Samui.
However, two months after I posted my photo on the Internet, a photographer came along who decided that her hotel could offer the same services. And would have the same look as mine. Why invent anything else? :) She took the photos in India. And either the sand was dirty there, or the camera was “not very good”. I would definitely not book a room in such a hotel. In short, her hotel will not become “the most expensive and eco-friendly luxury hotel in the world”. Two stars, no more! :)
And minus one for the lack of imagination.
It's time for another photo of me. This production has been actively copied. I was sent two versions of its copying at once.
And here is the first copy of my setup. I talked to the author of the photo. He does not hide the fact that he took the setup from me. That's already good. )
Pay attention to how important the height of the shooting is in relation to the angle and position of people in the frame. In my photo, the bride is tall, beautiful, powerful. With the right emotions. This works correctly for the story unfolding in the frame. The angle is chosen taking into account the wide-angle lens. Which allows you to shoot from above and at the same time emphasize the height of the bride.
In the copy, the bride was shot in a way that is strictly forbidden to shoot. From above. With a longer focal length than mine, she was shot higher. This is a categorical mistake. The head turns out big, the body is smaller, and the legs (!) are somewhere there. Small and disproportionate in relation to the body and especially the head. Despite the fact that, as I see, they shine through the dress and they could have been correctly emphasized, beautifully presented. There is much more to tell about the differences and mistakes, but I will stop here.
That's it. It is not the photograph that decides the frame, but the photographer. Experience and professionalism are still decisive in obtaining the best results. )
Later I will post the second version.
The promised second option.
The promised second option. Everything is so bad here that I'm just too lazy to comment on it. Some corpse was loaded into a car. The photo is a clear example of when you want to do something good, but you really can't. )
And here is a brand new, third copying option. I don't know what's smoking under the bride's dress, but it clearly doesn't work in the frame's favor. Just like the buildings that are falling apart in different directions.
My new photo has risen on the horizon of interests of would-be copyists.
The plot of my photo:
A mother and father are passing on their family experience to the newlyweds. Reinforcing their knowledge with quotes from the Kama Sutra. In the frame, the mother and father of the bride are actually from life. This shot was taken specifically for the parents. According to history, the bride's father is a military man and this issue was clearly played out in the frame.
The shoes are folded, the suit and shirt are hung evenly, and from under the blanket, evenly, like under a ruler on the parade ground, the feet of the newlyweds in socks stick out. We deliberately did not take them off, emphasizing the comicality of the statutory relationships in the family. The even blanket personified the even line on the parade ground. The older generation teaches life even on the first wedding night. That's the point.
In the copy, all this is lost. Some people, the same age as the newlyweds, are also sitting on the nightstands near the bed and sadly leafing through magazines while the newlyweds, hugging each other, are dozing with their legs sticking out from under the same flat blanket and for some reason also in socks.
This is a production, with its own private family history and its own storyline, in which the accents working for the story in this photograph are clearly placed.
In the copy, they tried to repeat, using the same accents, but of course they did not have enough brains to understand their semantic load. I do not post "similar" photographs. I post only those where they stupidly try to rip off my photograph and present it as their "masterpieces".
My idea for this production was that a girl standing on the beach dreams, draws in her imagination the ideal image of her man.
This is a real shot taken on the beach of Koh Samui in Thailand.
How we did it, see the backstage of this photo shoot.
And here comes the copyist.
They even put a reddish dress on the one-armed girl. If this miracle with a camera were a photographer, he would know that the left hand, extended forward, covers the entire frame and creates a "closed photograph". In connection with the fact that the girl is missing her second hand, we have a family photo of some cripples.
Note that in the original, I gave the girl a brush with paint in her right hand. She is light as a feather, she creates. And her left hand is in a pose of creative inspiration. Thus, I got a photograph open to the viewer. The viewer is complicit in the moment of creation. And not closed from it by the left hand, as in the second photo. But to know about such things, you need to be a photographer, not a cheap copyist. And this is worth a lot.
This photo opens the photo session of Ulyana and Konstantin, which I did on the island of Samui. The wedding day ended with a ceremony on the beach, at sunset. The newlyweds had fun, we threw rose leaves and took pictures. Beautiful shots to remember a romantic trip to Thailand.
But it turned out that there is a special kind of bad photographers - applicators. They are so bad that they don't even try to repeat my photos. They just cut out parts of their bad photos and put them on my cool photos, but the result is still a bad photo. It's a paradox, though). Here is an example of such applicatorism.
It doesn't occur to people that if you take your own photo
with an idea and love for photography, not for money but for art, then they will get a cool photo in any case. In any business, self-sufficiency is the most valuable product and priceless quality for the photographer himself.
Another photographer-applicator.
This is how it's done. Arkady took part of his photo, put it on my photo, dirty it to match the general style of his photo and voila, a creepy shot is ready. :)
I guess he was also proud of "his" photo if he posted it in his portfolio.
They sent me a link to this photo posted on his profile on MyWed. I showed it to Sergey Korolev, the owner of this site. He replied "Horror" and deleted Arkady Evseev's account from the MyWed site. Such is the difficult life of applicators. I didn't have time to post "my" photo before my account was deleted.
That's all. I hope you liked it.
I will add to and update this topic as they come in.
Thanks to everyone who sent me a link to copies of my photos. Send more. )
