Firefly Princess – From a Workshop in Turkey to Weddings on Phu Quoc Island
The Frog Princess? Everyone has seen it, everyone knows it.
A toad with an arrow in its mouth. But the Firefly Princess, wow. A unique shot in its luck. The only photograph in the world. I took it by accident... completely by accident.
Working from my home base on Phu Quoc Island, I often combine my creative wedding work with teaching experiences abroad. At the request of fellow photographers, I traveled to Turkey and showed during my workshop how to create a shot like this. Only in color and using local underground fireflies. Among other things, the glow of the dress uses one of the lanterns used for the lower illumination of the walls of this ancient cave. On which the bride herself is standing. And from the dress, the light spreads to the walls around her.
Technically, there are four light sources. With different temperatures and gels on them. It was an honor to share my knowledge with local photographers while showing them how even the most unusual locations can be transformed into fairy-tale wedding photography. And back home on Phu Quoc, I bring the same creative approach to the beaches, jungles, and resorts of the island — where couples can enjoy their own unique wedding stories.
I’ll be there to preserve your wedding day exactly as you remember it.
