Couple Photoshoot in Sunset Town Phu Quoc

There are places where romance happens naturally. You just walk, hold hands with your loved one and chatter about various things or look at the sea. And suddenly you understand that this is a wonderful scene.

Sunset Town (Thị trấn Hoàng Hôn in Vietnamese) on Phu Quoc Island is one such place. It looks as if someone took a piece of the Mediterranean, added tropical sun, sprinkled it with sea breeze and said: "Here you have the perfect backdrop for stylish romantic photography, you’re welcome".

We did a couple's photoshoot in Sunset Town for a couple celebrating their 15th wedding anniversary. It's a really nice format. Relaxed, cosy and very tender. In this article, we'll show you photos from this photoshoot in Sunset Town and tell you a bit about some of the places in the town.

Why does it work like a magnet for couples' photo shoots?

Because you can shoot everything at once here. It's "like in Europe", "like in the movies", "like at a wedding", and "like on a dream trip".

That's why requests like "anniversary photoshoot", "wedding photoshoot", "anniversary photo session", "wedding in Phu Quoc" and, of course, "couple photoshoot" in Sunset Town Phu Quoc fit perfectly here.

So.

We started our couple photoshoot in Sunset Town at a place that is already a ready-made backdrop. It is called the Venice Hotel.

From the outside, it looks like a mini scene from a romantic film, only without the staged suffering and with summer weather all year round.
Warm ochre walls, stained glass doors, garlands and a wreath above the entrance (all already decorated for the New Year), greenery and flowers all around. And in the centre of this theatre is a very cosy bas-relief with the inscription Welcome and a small fountain. Classic and colourful for a start. The couple is still getting used to the camera, but the shot already looks lively and festive.

In the first photos, he is standing slightly to one side, relaxed, wearing a black suit, as if to say: "I just stepped out for a minute". She is closer to the light, wearing a white dress, smiling in a way that makes it immediately clear that today is a special occasion, and this is one of those moments when happiness does not need to be feigned. I really like this contrast a serious "wedding" style, but without unnecessary formality. It's not a wedding, but a mature, beautiful anniversary/wedding-style photoshoot, when you've been "us" for a long time, and it makes you feel good.

The entrance to the Venice Hotel looks like a postcard. А couple on either side, a decorative panel in the middle, stained glass windows on the edges, and a festive pine cone arch above. Vintage cars on either side add a cinematic touch.

And, of course, we didn't forget to take a couple of shots inside. Because in Sunset Town, beautiful photos are not only taken on the streets and at sunset. There are many beautiful spaces inside the buildings.

Inside the Venice Hotel, everything is very colourful - blue armchairs, paintings on the walls, stained glass windows, details that you want to look at. And that's where a shot is born that always works for romance without effort. He hands her a flower, she laughs, leaning forward slightly.
There is so much simplicity in this gesture that any words about love become superfluous. This is the type of photo that couples choose for their anniversary photoshoot in Sunset Town. No "let's pretend we're happy". You are happy already. We just capture it carefully.

"Сinematic" portraits in Sunset Town

Right outside the Venice Hotel, the hotel's signature car was waiting for us. A juicy red vintage convertible - the perfect prop for wedding-style shots, even if you're not celebrating a wedding but an anniversary. Next to it, even a white dress looks even whiter.

We started with something simple and stylish. He stands next to the car, hands in his pockets, a calm look on his face, his suit fits perfectly. There is a lot of air in the frame, warm ochre walls, greenery, flowers in the background. Sunset Town generally loves these "cinematic" portraits, where the background does not compete with the person, but simply adds character.

The result is exactly what people are looking for when they search for things like "couple photoshoot in Sunset Town" or "anniversary photoshoot" — not "look, we're posing", but "look at our beautiful story".

Then we put them in a convertible. And then everything fell into place: white lilies on the bonnet, soft light, shop houses with neat windows and balconies all around, a small Mediterranean-style town, but in Asia. In one shot, they look at each other through the windscreen, and it's such an honest moment that you just want to nod silently and not interfere.

And, of course, we took a couple of shots right in this car. It's like a bright prop.
He's holding her hand, she's smiling at the camera as if it's not a photo shoot, but their usual walk on their wedding day.

Photo walk in Sunset Town

After, we hopped into this red electric buggy and drove around Sunset Town to collect different backgrounds for shooting. This is one of the most enjoyable scenarios for any photo walk in Phu Quoc. No need to rush from location to location in the heat, you just drive, laugh, enjoy the breeze and stop periodically to take pictures.

We stopped at that long water wall with greenery and lion heads, from which water jets spray. It is such an impressive "entry point" to a walk through The Centre neighbourhood.

She walks along the edge of the water, he takes her hand from below, and the picture turns out to be both playful and very romantic. And the photo where he kneels by the fountain wall looks like a little "repeat proposal" for their 15th anniversary. And this, by the way, is one of the best scenarios for a couple photoshoot. You don't have to re-enact the wedding, just remind yourself that you still choose each other.

If you are currently planning a photoshoot (anniversary, wedding, honeymoon or just a walk) in Sunset Town in Phu Quoc, it offers a rare combination. It's like you're walking around the city, but in fact you're changing the background every 2-3 minutes. Now you have a vintage convertible and an "Italian cinema" mood, and in ten minutes you'll have a green wall with fountains. And then there will be even more places where your arms will naturally reach out to embrace each other.

Taking photos in the central square of Sunset Town

Next, we smoothly moved on to the most impressive place in the area.

This is Quảng trường Hoàng Hôn — essentially the central square of Sunset Town.

And yes, it is right next to the La Festa Phu Quoc, Curio Collection by Hilton hotel, so everything around it looks like a resort postcard — bright facades, palm trees, water and a festive atmosphere even on an ordinary day.

In the centre of this square stands the very same snow-white fountain, which is difficult to confuse with anything else. Its proper name is Đài phun nước Thần Mặt Trời, and in English it is usually written as King of the Sun Fountain. The composition features the sun god Helios and a chariot, which fits well with the idea of the "city of sunset". This fountain is literally made for romance.

Before we got closer to the fountain, my favourite "unscripted moment" happened. He sat down and adjusted the ribbons on her shoes. Without any fuss. Just a gesture of care that has become habitual after 15 years of marriage. It is moments like these that turn an anniversary photoshoot into a real story, rather than a set of pretty poses. In the frame, it looks very real - a white dress, a black suit, and a small gesture of care that cannot be faked.

After visiting the main square with its fountain, we went in search of the most recognisable sight in Sunset Town. These are photos of Thang Rồng - in Vietnamese, but usually called Dragon Staircase or Dragon Stairs.

The staircase looks like a huge writhing snake/dragon in bougainvillea colours or simply in bushes if you don't visit during the flowering season. The staircase rises in gentle curves, like a serpentine, with golden railings, brightly tiled steps and greenery all around. And all this is sandwiched between colourful facades.

A little bit of history, short and to the point. The Dragon Staircase was conceived as a "check-in" point in The Centre neighbourhood and was inspired by the famous Lombard Street in San Francisco. The same idea of smooth turns, only instead of cars and traffic jams - romance, greenery and lots of sunshine.

In places like this, you don't even need to think about poses because the backdrop does half the work for you. In a word, it's the warm sky at sunset, the flat line of the sea, and this stone arch, which seems to have been created especially for romantic stories.

In one shot, they stand embracing under the arch, and it seems that the whole of Sunset Town has fallen silent for a moment so as not to disturb them. In another, you catch their profile against the backdrop of the sun gently setting into the water. Romance without unnecessary special effects, just the sunset, the sea and two people who have been together for 15 years.

Where to go in Sunset Town after sunset?

After sunset, Sunset Town changes before our eyes.
In these shots, we are descending closer to the sea to the first level of the city. Just a warm walk together. Her dress catches the evening air beautifully, and he walks beside her.

We come out onto the very pedestrian street that many call "Walking Street". The correct name here is VUI-Fest Bazaar. It is often also written as Vui-Fest Night Market or Sunset Town Night Market (in Vietnamese, Chợ đêm VUI-Fest). This is the main evening attraction in Sunset Town. Here you can eat in the evening, have a drink, try exotic fruits and buy souvenirs. Or just spend the evening with friends or family. There are many restaurants with beautiful sea views.

It's the perfect ending to a photoshoot in Sunset Town, because after the "golden hour" comes the "hour of lights". The photos turn out more vivid, slightly cinematic, with a festive mood. Illuminated by bright lanterns and lights.

I really like how these evening photos convey a sense of scale. There is a spacious square, palm trees, garlands, even a Christmas tree (everything is already decorated for the New Year). And you walk like the main characters - small against the backdrop of a big, beautiful world, but still the most noticeable.

It's simply beautiful here during the day. And in the evening, this street turns into Phu Quoc's version of Walking Street.

And then, suddenly, VUI-Fest Bazaar turns into a private dance floor for two.

In the middle of the street, there is a small stage with fairy lights strung above it. It seems as if the whole of Sunset Town has specially arranged the lighting for your celebration. They go out there without any fuss. It no longer matters who is walking nearby or what they are eating. He hugs her. She laughs, her dress falling softly in beautiful folds, and the lights above create the perfect backdrop.

This is one of those rare shots that looks like a wedding scene. This shot is about how romance doesn't end after the wedding, it just becomes calmer and more confident.

In one photo, he is paying, she is smiling. The seller hands him a skewer with caramelised fruit.

The next shot is at a street grill. The flames, smoke, seafood and signs around them shine so brightly that you can shoot without any extra decorations. They stand next to each other, watching the food being prepared and smiling. This is not a staged scene, but a normal evening for two.

These shots were taken on the stairs next to the Venice Hotel Phu Quoc. They lead down to the lower level, where the cosy Venice de Café is tucked away with its palm trees, garlands and Italian-style painted walls.

This corner is one of the most photogenic places in Sunset Town in the evening, as if created for the final scene of a photo shoot. After a walk through the bustling Vui-Fest Bazaar, it becomes quiet here.

The couple looks calm and natural - he is in a relaxed pose by a column, she is in a white dress, illuminated by warm light, against the backdrop of paintings with boats and flowering trees. Everything seems to say, just enjoy the moment.

In the last shots, they are already walking down the stairs under the palm trees, laughing, holding hands, and next to them is a sign that reads "Venice de Café - Love in Town". And this is the perfect ending to the story: a walk through Sunset Town flows smoothly into a cosy evening - where their holiday began and where this warm day ended. Anniversary photoshoot in Sunset Town, Phu Quoc.

The shoot ended where it began. In one evening, we managed to live a little story. We walked along the most photogenic streets, caught the soft sunset by the sea, visited the evening Walking Street/Vui-Fest Bazaar with its lights and lively atmosphere - and finally returned to the hotel, where warm lighting, greenery and painted walls put a beautiful end to the whole series. This route is great because it feels like a journey, and the photos capture not "posing" but a mood - lightness, closeness and a real celebration.
