MUSEUM ROBBERY

Almost by accident, I took several photos of a cynical robbery of one of the Kyiv museums.

For the purposes of the investigation, the name of the museum is not disclosed. Hot on the heels, the police found out that the robbers were Denis and Elena. Newlyweds.

Hiding behind their own wedding and love for beauty, they visited one of the Kyiv museums. Their accomplices, posing as wedding guests, drugged the elderly museum workers with champagne and robbed the sanctuary of natural history and spiritual culture. According to experts, the newlyweds were true connoisseurs of art. The canvases they took are priceless.

Among them are Picasso's Dove with Green Peas (Le pigeon aux petits pois), Matisse's Pastorale (Le pastorale), Modigliani's Woman with a Fan (La femme à l’éventail) and a unique photograph Wedding Story by Stelmakh (Wedding story). After the theft was discovered, the surrounding area was cordoned off and an operation to intercept the "Wedding" was declared on the country's roads. But the limousine in which the robbers left quickly merged into the traffic flow of Kyiv roads.

It is not the first time that modern Bonnie and Clyde have used the wedding theme for their own profit. We have already written about another couple who tricked guests into giving expensive gifts and then disappeared from a restaurant without paying for it. It seems that an organized wedding gang is operating in Kyiv, the number of whose members increases every Saturday.

This project was shot during my stay in Kyiv, but the creative idea is very much in line with the style of wedding photography that I develop on Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam. My work there shows that a wedding photoshoot does not have to be traditional or predictable — it can be cinematic, bold, and filled with storytelling, just like this “museum robbery” series. Couples on Phu Quoc can enjoy not only the stunning tropical scenery of Long Beach or Khem Beach but also conceptual, staged sessions that turn their love story into an unforgettable narrative.

Step into a photoshoot where anything is possible — from cinematic storytelling to tropical beach romance on Phu Quoc. Let’s create your own wedding story together.
