What to watch this weekend.
Through the Snowpiercer is a fascinating American television series about a relentlessly speeding train transporting Earth's last survivors. A man-made global catastrophe sends the entire world back to the Ice Age. But, as usual, there's a local Noah who has prepared an ark for the chosen few, and not so many.
1001 Train Cars.
A strict hierarchy reigns on the train. From the bored elites at the front of the train to the hungry and constantly rebelling last car. Despite the limited space, everything is as usual in this last ark of humanity: drugs, murder, pleasures, betrayal, and honor.
The series is beautifully filmed, not overly long, but also not over the top like in "The Hundred." Everything is in moderation. You're immersed from the very first episode. As a bonus, there's the incomparable Jennifer Connelly. She fits the style of the series well and is sure to please the viewer's eye.
And yes, if you've seen the film of the same name or read the novel, you'll also love the series. Everything is atmospheric and unique. I recommend it.
Enjoy watching.
